About SSC Connector
Bridging the gap between South-South cooperation demand and supply
Overview
The ESCAP South-South Cooperation (SSC) Connector has been developed as an operational cooperation platform that facilitates real-time project- and technical-assistance-level South-South and triangular cooperation led by national development cooperation agencies. The platform connects partners through concrete cooperation offers and requests, linking expressions of interest with concrete collaboration, and is intentionally designed to support engagement beyond the initial connection. This includes institution-to-institution collaboration, peer learning, and capacity development, particularly for emerging development cooperation agencies in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
In designing the SSC Connector, emphasis has been placed on supporting project initiation and follow-up engagement, including continued interaction among participating agencies and through platforms such as the Asia-Pacific Directors-General Forum for South-South and Triangular Cooperation.

How does the SSC Connector relate to other South-South cooperation platforms?
This approach is distinct yet complementary to existing platforms in the South-South cooperation ecosystem.
(1) South-South Galaxy, managed by the UN Office for South-South Cooperation, serves as a global knowledge and visibility platform, focusing on documenting and showcasing South-South and triangular cooperation solutions, initiatives, and good practices that have been implemented or are ongoing. It provides an important space for learning from experience, sharing knowledge, and enhancing the global visibility of South-South cooperation.
(2) The Islamic Development Bank Matchmaking Platform is structured around institution-level connections, highlighting accredited Resource Centres and their areas of technical expertise, and enabling users to identify relevant institutional capacities.
(3) The South-South Point, within the International Labour Organization, functions as a coordination and facilitation. It supports SSTrC within ILO's mandate by promoting thematic exchanges, peer learning, and programme-based collaboration among ILO constituents, governments, employers' and workers' organizations, particularly in areas related to the Decent Work Agenda.
